About Your Instructor
Hi there! My name is Jessica Hanika, after a car accident two decades ago, followed by the stress of a corporate desk job, I had to face some tough decisions about my body and the shape I was in.
I never thought one day I would find myself stuck in the physical therapy pain cycle. My strength, flexibility disappeared somewhere and I felt paralized on how do I fix it?
I was in and out of physical therapy. I saw a reformer in the corner not being used. I was facing a shoulder surgery. The pain was crippling, my shoulders were rounded, my neck chronically hurt, my lower back was in constant pain. I was stuck.
With some determination and grit, I decided to purchase a reformer for the house. Surely I could do all of this physical therapy stuff at home right? Well not exactly. To be honest the reformer was big, overwhelming and a little creepy looking and I was intimidated. I hired a wonderful instructor to come to my home during the pandemic shut down and she worked with me twice a week. I was so deconditioned. Couldn't plank, Couldn't do a sit up or a bridge. And every week she would push me to grow and do more.
I got to rebuild my body from the ground up and it gives me a solid understanding of where people are at in their moment.
I loved Pilates so much that I started taking instructor training for myself so that I could be better aware of my body and I also had a mission. I want to help people.
Help people who are stuck and deconditioned. Atheletes who feel bored and need to find new movement and stability challenges. People of all ages who need to find lengthening that are in chronic pain. I want to give back and share how life changing and life giving this form of exercise truly is.
If my situation sounds like you, or any of the other scenarios make you think hmmm, then you have maybe you have landed on the right page.
I created a private Bridge Studio to help my clients build strength, without an audience, while eliminating the pain cycle and keeping the price as close to a co-pay as possible. It is apart of my mission to help keep private lessions affordable. Yes I could charge $100.00. a session. My experience justifies a higher price tag and my logged hours are 4000+ sessions. But that high price tag would defeat my mission. High pricetags don't help people who need it, transform and improve.
I started with amazing mentors and still provide services in a couple of studios in the area. I am not a physical therapist, just a fighter, with a comprehensive Pilates certification.
My passion and aptitude to help others continuously motivate me to think outside of the box and customize each workout to meet each client's individualized needs. My knowledge expands to all ages, shapes, sizes and abilities. Pilates is for everyone and everyone can transform and move forward with Pilates. It truly is THAT amazing!
